IT Server Support Engineer - Windows, Hyper-V, Virtualisation - Sussex

A growing financial services business is actively looking to recruit two Server Support Engineers to join its team in the New Year. With the positions being heavily customer and user focused they are looking for individuals that not only possess excellent technical skills but strong interpersonal and communication abilities.

Technical skills needed include:

·Day-to-day server maintenance, including but not limited to the management of a multi-site Windows 2008 R2 Active Directory Domain and various related services and technologies
·Pro-active monitoring of the above environment
  • Microsoft Server Environment
  • Windows 2008 Server Environment
  • Hyper-V Virtualisation (VMWare would be considered)
  • Intermediate (or above) knowledge of TCP/IP networking
  • Experience configuring and managing Microsoft IIS Server, including ASP.NET and other related technologies
  • An understanding of release management processes
  • An understanding of change control processes


Supporting in the region of 500 servers (a mixture of virtual and onsite) in a fast paced and high availability, highly transactional business the role will be very challenging with a lot of BAU as well as project work to get involved with.

Salary is expected to be in the region of £30,000 - £35,000 + benefits. Role will be predominantly based in Crawley, but require regular travel to other offices and data centres in the Sussex area, so access to a car and valid driving license will be required,
