Application Support Consultant - Unix / Payments - London £55k


ISL are recruiting for a senior application support consultant (UNIX) to join a global leader in technology solution services in the financial and card payments industry. Working with majority of banks globally the successful senior application support consultant (UNIX) will be responsible high profile solutions.


Key Skills

· 3+ years' experience in a similar role in a real-time transaction processing environment

· In-depth knowledge of the card payments industry beneficial
  • An ability to self-motivate, and to deliver high quality work to tight timescales when under pressure

· A high degree of ownership of production issues with the drive and knowledge necessary to resolve them

· Excellent organisational, analytical and conceptual skills

· Solid experience with trouble-shooting and debugging complex applications
  • Good customer focus and communication skills
  • A confident demeanour with a diligent and reliable nature

· Good knowledge of Unix (preferably AIX), Linux, networking and scripting

· Good knowledge of Informix and/or Oracle databases to be able to liaise with expert DBAs

· Good knowledge of SQL, XML, and one or more of Websphere, Apache, Tomcat, Liferay, IBM HTTP Server, and other internet technologies including web services


The successful senior application support consultant (UNIX) will have secured a role with a globally recognised company and be guaranteed to be working on industry leading projects.
