Business Data Analyst - Investment Management

Due to continued expansion this leading Investment Manager require an individual to join their Business Data Management team to maintain core business data in daily functions and work closely with other operational teams to ensure data quality in core systems.

Principal Accountabilities:

1. Business As Usual (BAU)
*To maintain core business data. This will involve taking ownership and responsibility of certain processes currently maintained by different business teams and IT.
*Implement comprehensive robust controls on all aspects of key reference data (e.g. Security Master, Funds, Client, Party, Analytic datasets etc). Assist in the building of automated exception reports across all key data elements.
*Work closely with other teams in ensuring that data standards and policies are adhered to.
*Assist in the development of a data governance model and gain agreement for it to be adopted company wide. Ensure that data owners are clearly established.
*Assist in the re-engineering of existing business processes to ensure data controls are sufficient.
*Assist in the creation of a centre of Excellence to ensure the BDM team becomes the first point of contact for data queries and requests for data enhancements for both analytic and reporting needs across the business
*Create an efficient agile operational Business Data Management service in compliance with all internal and regulatory requirements, this includes: Continuous review of team procedures, policies, systems and issues; The implementation of the agreed changes

2. Projects
*When required, represent the BDM team on Projects. Consideration will need to be given to: Interaction of systems; Duplication of data & elimination thereof; Vendor feeds, elimination of duplication
*Assist in the testing of Data aspects of projects to include creation of test scripts and execution of User Acceptance Testing.

3. Rapid/Tactical Developments
*Work collectively within the BDM team to deliver small and medium sized tactical developments to business areas. Large developments would be met by the formal project initiation process.
*Work closely with business areas across LGIM that make requests for Data. Ensure that BDM team developments meet/or exceed the business request for access to data. This will include the rapid development of Data Marts tailored for different business areas.

You will ideally have a proven track record in:

*Data Management function with another Asset Manager or solid experience of another operational function such as Security Masters, Pricing, Static Data etc is desirable.
*Improving processes and driving change within an Operational function
*Exposure to third party applications for data management e.g. Cadis, SmartCo, Asset Control etc.
*Advanced Excel / Access / Office (VB / VBA desirable)
*Experience coding business rules into applications desirable
*Business Objects/Other BI tools
