2nd Line Support Analyst - Investment Management

Leading Institutional Investment Manager require an individual to perform second line support for Linux/HP-UX/Solaris systems and act as a central point of communication to the Computer Operations area.

Principal Accountabilities

*Provide second line support of all Linux/HP-UX/Solaris systems and NetApps/EVA disk storage.
*Administer Operational Schedules ensuring adequate training and documentation where necessary
*Perform first line support for Quasar/Cache database and environment as well as second line support for all scheduling jobs. Cover for the Quasar/Cache Database Administrator in times of absence. Provide Operational MI demonstrating continuous improvement
*Design, create and maintain operational procedures, documentation, scripts, scheduling jobs and daily schedules to agreed standards.
*Provide first line support to the computer operations area, ensuring all tasks are completed accurately & on-time and that any problem is dealt with in a timely manner, escalated as necessary retaining ownership to ensure appropriate resolution is implemented.
*Perform day to day management of the Quasar/Cache system and provide cover for the Quasar/Cache DBA during times of absence.
*Provide cover for the Ingres DBA during times of absence.
*Provide management information and audit trails to the agreed quality standard and schedule.
*Assist in the configuration of system and performance management tools.
*Evaluate business and/or technical solutions, recommending the most appropriate way forward, providing input to project cost-benefit cases, and resolving any technical conflicts.
*Continually incorporate quality management, assurance and best practices into all support and project areas to ensure services are delivered within agreed Business Requirements (including out of hours where appropriate).
