Our client is currently seeking to recruit a Ecommerce Director, the position will be reporting into the CEO. The successful applicant will look to drive growth in the profitability of multi channel online offering, through expansion of their online presence as well as their online partners.

JOB DETAILS

To drive growth in the profitability of the Companies multi channel online offering, through expansion of their online presence as well as theironline partner offerings.

The role encompasses full P&L responsibility from traffic acquisition (incl. CPA/PPC), through to customer conversion (incl. online merchandising, promotion and stimulation). In conjunction with the Board, you will be responsible for setting commercial KPIs for our online offerings and will have day to day responsibility for the management of the e-commerce team to achieve these goals

E-commerce is a significant channel within the Company, achieving sales materially in excess of £10 million and a healthy EBITDA margin. As such, the channel has a high profile within head office and at Board level. The role provides the opportunity to work closely with all aspects of the wider Company (Design, Marketing, Merchandising, Finance, Customer Service) to ensure that the channel achieves its key financial targets and supports the brand proposition.


JOB PURPOSE

* To develop and implement an integrated ecommerce strategy ensuring that the channel works alongside retail, driving incremental sales, acting as a brand ambassador and a means of bringing new customers to the brand.
*To maintain and develop the website, ensuring that all available product and promotions are up to date and that each site is maximizing its potential based on the available stats.
*To ensure the companies online site is promoted according to an agreed marketing strategy in order to attract new customers.
*To identify new initiatives to build traffic and maximize conversion.
*To liaise with external agencies / partners and affiliates to maintain and build both existing and new relationships.
*To analyse sales and visitor stats to measure performance against agreed KPI's.


KEY ROLE AND MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES

Product and Stock Maintenance

* To liaise with Merchandising to ensure appropriate product is available for the web and that delivery times are planned into a web product and promotional schedule.
* To liaise with marketing to ensure key press items and featured products are represented thus ensuring all customers have access to top store buys.
* To provide a brief for design and merchandising as to what product is required for the web based on sales patterns and e-commerce strategy.
* To manage the list of web stock and to ensure all product is categorized appropriately and that the categories are balanced and represent the brand and web demand.
* To evaluate the product categories on a regular basis to assess whether changes, additions or deletions need to be made.
* To manage the product database to ensure that all product has the appropriate descriptions both for customer based descriptions online and search engine optimization.
* To ensure low stock product is identified and removed from the site at the appropriate time.
* To work with Merchandising and Marketing to identify which items to promote, either in specific sections or in terms of page sequencing.

Customer and Sales Analysis

* To analyse product sales and visitor stats. Prepare weekly management reports with key actions identified.
* To measure performance of key website initiatives, marketing activities, affiliations and PPC (pay per click) activity
* Identify best and worst sellers and recommend any changes to product range and website set-up to drive greater sales
* To analyse customer visit stats to identify who is visiting, from where, for how long, etc. Identify how to attract and retain, how to keep them returning and how to drive conversion.
* To profile and segment customers and identify targeted activities.
* To identify any research/customer feedback required and manage the set-up and reporting of any research projects.

Photography and Imagery

* To work with Brand Director on all photography requirements for the site and the timetable by which it needs to be delivered.
* To brief all creative work for page updates, promotional puffs and banners and email communications.
* To prepare a calendar for all creative and ensure all visuals and messages are uploaded in a timely manner.

Marketing and Promotions

* To manage the VIP sign up and the customer database to ensure that we can communicate effectively with the target market and segments within it.
* To manage the email marketing programme to ensure that both existing and new customers receive regular news about the company and any special events as well as to promote the website.
* To ensure that key brand/marketing messages are communicated via the website, either as promotional puffs or within appropriate sections.
* To identify the most effective means of driving new customers to the site, through PPC, SEO, Online fashion sites or affiliate promotions.
* To identify, implement and monitor promotional techniques.
* To identify topics for the magazine section and ensure they are presented in a visible and compelling way to ensure customers read them and are keep coming back.

Order Management and Fulfilment

* To maintain a constant dialogue with the DC to ensure orders are being fulfilled within the agreed timescales and to identify any changes required to the order management/returns process to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
* To assess the packaging requirements (seasonally, in advance) to ensure it meets the needs of the product, the DC, the carriers and the customers.
* To analyse and report on basket size/contents and returns identifying means of increasing multiple sales and reducing returns.

Site Management

* Regularly check all aspects of the site to make sure all links are consistent, displaying the right information and free from errors
* To liaise with the web agency on a regular basis to ensure the site is functioning appropriately.
* To keep abreast of the market to ensure the company website keeps pace with changes in functions and features.

Budgets and Reporting

* To prepare annual sales and cost budgets and manage ongoing the costs of running and developing the site.
* To propose web marketing budgets and liaise with the Marketing Manager to ensure appropriate activity is scheduled and costed within the Marketing budget.
* To agree key KPI's and key report formats. Ensure they are all prepared and delivered to the appropriate stakeholders


Behaviours:

The role requires a self starter and a team player. The successful candidate will need to be able to 'project manage' and have the appropriate leadership skills to drive the ecommerce strategy through peer relationships.

You should be analytical and able to interpret both statistics and customer behaviour.
Whilst not necessarily a creative, you will need to be able to brief creative work and site design updates such that the site projects brand and promotional messages and works as an effective ecommerce site.
